Billing & insurance

How payment & insurance reimbursement work

We keep this simple. You pay upfront, you get a superbill, you submit it to your insurer.

You pay NurtureCore Studio directly

When you book a session, you pay the physio's listed rate at checkout via Stripe. No surprise charges. Free to cancel up to 24 hours before your session for a full refund.

After your session, you get a superbill

A superbill is a one-page receipt that includes everything your insurance needs: the CPT code (97110 — therapeutic exercise), the ICD-10 diagnosis code your physio assigns, place of service (telehealth), and the provider's NPI. You'll find a "Superbill" link on every past session in your dashboard.

You submit to your insurance

Most US and Canadian plans reimburse out-of-network physical therapy — typically 50–80% of the visit after your deductible. Submission is usually a 5-minute upload through your insurer's app or portal. Coverage varies by plan; we recommend checking with your insurer first.

  • Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, United, Kaiser PPO — usually cover
  • HSAs and FSAs — almost always cover (use your HSA card at checkout!)
  • Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life (Canada) — usually cover under Extended Health Benefits

Questions to ask your insurance

  • "Do you cover CPT 97110 (therapeutic exercise) by an out-of-network licensed physical therapist via telehealth?"
  • "What is my out-of-network deductible? My out-of-network coinsurance?"
  • "Do I need a referral or pre-authorization?"
  • "How do I submit a superbill — through your app, member portal, or by mail?"
